It was June 2017 when I decided to write my first blogpost. It was a random decision that spurred out of my desire to share my passion to the world. Never would I have thought that I will eventually turn it into a magazine.
My journey to going organic has been quite the ride.
I started with educating myself back in 2016 while I was living in Taiwan. I first tried organic food and fell in-love with health and wellness. Then, I started slowly switching over to organic beauty products.
In the process, I was able to launch a company LineaOrganica with my mom. It started as a retail company in 2018 and now has turned into a nationwide distribution company.
Looking back the past 5 years, I have experienced so many incredible things, all thanks to this blog. I have worked with wonderful employees who believe in our vision. I have also met doctors, celebrities, influencers, writers who share the same passion. Best of all, I have met so many inspiring entrepreneurs all across the globe who are also pioneering the growth of the organic industry.
Shifting Into a Magazine
With the continued rise of social media and the internet, I am taking another leap of faith and turning this blog into a digital magazine.
We will share topics on: Beauty, Food, Lifestyle, Environment, while still keeping my original Organicaholic identity and sharing informative topics. This will all be filed under the Organic 101 category.
Additionally, we’ll be launching a new exciting category, Organic People, featuring people who are authentic, organic and radical in their business or craft.
You know when you love to do something so much that they call you ____-aholic? That’s where organicaholic came from when this was still a blog and it was just me.
But it wouldn’t be a magazine if it was just me… so I recruited a team. I’m so thankful because they are all willing to contribute their learnings and passions to this magazine, and join me in educating our readers. So of course, now that we are a team, we call ourselves organicaholicS, or OH for short.
Meet the OH Team
Arli – Writer, Editor
Arli Pagaduan wants to be a cat when she grows up. But before that happens, she will write and draw stories that make people feel something, cook and try good food, learn more about the environment and humanity’s connection to it, read books, play with cats and dogs, run regularly, play RPG games, and maybe—just maybe—be the voice behind a cartoon character.
Cathy – Writer, Fact Checker
Cathy Calzar is a registered pharmacist currently practicing in regulatory affairs. She keeps in touch with her artistic side through her various hobbies like journaling, writing, painting, and upcycling thrifted clothes. When she’s not cozied up in her room with a cup of coffee and her journal, you can find her biking or walking around their village with her toy poodle, Scruple, or doing experiments in her “food lab” a.k.a. the kitchen.
Mich – Writer
Mich Bernardino a zennial writer who was born nothing and turning herself into something. Reading books is her way to escape from reality, listening to music is like talking to a best friend that can relate to what she feels, cooking new recipes she finds on Tiktok and making her family try it is how she bonds with them and watching Anime is her past time (and she’s even had a multiple 2D husbands!) She loves to share about her experience and observation in almost everything. And most especially, she loves to do crazy things.
Jay – Web Designer
Jay Oliver Fetalino, Fets for short, does his best every single day whether it’s in designing, developing, or maintaining a website or playing Valorant at night. He likes to take road trips with friends (when times were safer), travel to new places, listen to post-rock music and OPM (his top 3 bands are Ben & Ben, Industries of the Blind, and Hammock), watch anime, read manga, and eat delicious food. Always sporting a bright smile and ever the courteous guy, he strives to spread good vibes to the people around him.
Mikee – Writer, Editor, Creative Director
Mikee Federizo (that’s me!) is a creative and an entrepreneur who is passionate about doing things that inspire her. Despite her crazy schedule (you should see her colorful google calendar), she makes sure to keep herself grounded through meditation, yoga, reading and writing. Mikee BC (before covid) also loves to sky dive, scuba dive and travel… and hoping to do all of these soon once safe again.
Organic is about being authentic, and in this magazine, that is exactly what we promise to be. We admire brands and people who are real, not afraid to be different, and have a cause. If you would like to get featured, please email email@example.com
